OpTic secure FACEIT Major New Challengers Stage spot

OpTic have defeated ENCE 2-1 in the upper bracket final at the Europe Minor to qualify for the FACEIT Major New Challengers Stage.

ENCE and OpTic squared off in the upper bracket final at the Europe Minor for a spot at the FACEIT Major New Challengers Stage. The action started on Dust2 with the T-sided Finnish team winning the pistol round in a 2vs3.

Even though ENCE first weapon round, they secured the fifth round to lead 4-1. Two consecutive 3vs5 victories made it 8-1. OpTic responded in the 13th round but that was the only other round they won in the first half at the end of which they trailed 13-2.

OpTic are going to the New Challengers Stage

OpTic secured the first four rounds in the second half but couldn't make it five rounds in a row as Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli clutched a 1vs2 in the 20th round, making it 14-6. Ultimately, the Finns wrapped up the map with a 16-7 scoreline.

The roles were reversed on Mirage as OpTic had a 13-2 CT-side campaign. The Danes picked up the second half pistol round by taking the B-site. They went on to close out the map 16-2 as René "⁠cajunb⁠" Borg clutched a 1vs3 in the 18th round.

ENCE will play NiP for a Major spot

Inferno was the decider and it kicked off with a 1vs3 clutch by Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke who gave the CT-sided OpTic the 1-0 lead. The Danish squad managed to fend off ENCE in the first five rounds but the Finns won a 3vs5 in the sixth round to trail 5-1.

allu & company won nine of the last ten rounds in the first half to finish it 9-6 in front. OpTic tied the game at 9-9 after winning the first three rounds in the second half. The Danish team took the lead as Jakob "⁠JUGi⁠" Hansen found two opening kills and later on, they made it 12-9 with a 2vs3 in the 21st round. OpTic won the map 16-11 and took the 2-1 series victory to qualify for the FACEIT Major New Challengers Stage.
